Provision of primary healthcare, awareness-raising, Water, Hygiene, and Sanitation (WASH), and health stakeholder strengthening. Core issues of interest are HIV, maternal health, Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights, (attention on Cervical and Breast cancer), Malaria, Diarrhea, tuberculosis, respiratory infections, and COVID-19. This is in line with SDG No. 03 (Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all age)
Given that unintended and early pregnancy is a key cause of high maternal mortality in Cameroon and many parts of Africa, access to sexual and reproductive health and rights education and services is important to guarantee women’s health. SACOD works with local communities to out sensitization and educational programs to increase uptake of basic SRHR services such as Menstrual Hygiene, Family Planning, use of Ante-natal and Infant Welfare Services, Vaccination, amongst others. Consequently, strengthening individuals’ knowledge and choice and building community support for sexual reproductive health rights.
Through its Behaviour Change Communication program, SACOD in partnership with local health authorities and staff sensitize members of the local community on adequate prevention strategies against major diseases prevalent in the communities in which it operates, employing basic methods such as hand washing and the provision of additional WASH services.

Sustainable Action for Community Development (SACOD) works to improve the health and wellbeing of individuals and communities through enabling and encouraging healthy lifestyle choices as well as addressing underlying issues such as poverty, lack of educational opportunities and other such areas.
